I'm FIRED UP because of Jim Bunning's antics. And I'm FED UP that his political clones -- Trey Grayson and Rand Paul - are "PROUDLY WILLING" to sacrifice the financial and physical health of Kentucky families who are jobless... all in the hopes of winning a few more primary votes.
Instead of supporting an extension of unemployment benefits to almost 120,000 jobless Kentuckians, Bunning, Paul and Grayson support blocking that extension.

I came today to share with you my views on some of the key issues that I believe are intertwined with the success of Kentucky's small businesses and working families and with your success as manufacturers.
Specifically ... Energy ... Health Care .... Transportation and Trade.
Before getting into the policy details ... let me first put them in context relative to our overall economy.
As you are acutely aware ... our economy is in shambles. It is the worst recession in my lifetime and - like many Kentuckians -- I believe it is the worst economy since the Great Depression.
Working men and women across our Commonwealth are struggling just to survive.

When it comes to transportation policy -- I consider the KBT a valuable resource of information and constructive insight. When I am elected to the U.S. Senate, when it comes to transportation issues - you can count on this ... KBT will be on my speed dial.
So let's talk a little policy.
Like you - Kentuckians all across our Commonwealth are struggling to make ends meet. With unemployment in double digits, families are losing their jobs, their homes - and many are drowning in debt.
Businesses - small and large - are struggling just trying to hang on until this economy finally turns around.
If there is one priority for Kentucky's next United States Senator - it must be to help get our economy moving again.

Let me begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to the Coalition for the Advancement of Regional Transportation for providing me with this forum. I have come today to address an important issue that will determine whether or not Kentucky is a full partner in America's 21st century transportation network and - ultimately - whether or not Louisville develops the kind of public transportation system worthy of a world class city.
