My life has been about helping people. I was inspired to be a doctor -- to help people -- by the death of my brother, who died due to inadequate medical care. After medical school, I returned back to my home in Eastern Kentucky because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives -- to provide the medical care so many had gone without.
In 2004, despite pundits and even some Democratic leaders saying it was impossible, I took on Jim Bunning because I thought it was the right thing to do. Together we stood up and took on the failed the economic policies of Jim Bunning and George Bush that were hurting Kentucky's working families. Despite the odds, we came within 1.4% of achieving the impossible - and along the way we received more votes than any Democratic candidate in Kentucky history. In 2010, with your continued support we are going finish what we started in 2004 and take back Wendell Ford's seat for Kentucky's families whose voices are seldom heard in Washington.| Home | Why I'm Running | Issues | Daniel's Blog | Media | Latest News | Get involved | Events | Contact |
